Abstract EN

This survey studies the relationship between blocking websites by the Iraqi Government and the people turning to TV for getting news online for the period of time from July 17th to August 16th 2018.

This study asked the following questions: 1- To what extent you trust online news? 2- How many hours you usually spend on surfing the Internet? 3- What are the most trusty media you use if you have no access to internet? 4- Do you often use the Ventricular Natriuretic Peptide (VNP) for getting access to internet when it is blocked by the Government? 5- What are the programs you use to access internet? 6- How many hours you usually spend to watch news on TV before blocking the websites? The research also included a set of objectives as follows: 1- Determine the extent of reliance on the Internet in providing news related to local, Arab, regional and international affairs.

2- The time spent on watching news on TV before and after blocking internet.

3- To what extent Iraqi people were upset because of government blocking internet.

The research concluded the following: It is clear that numbers of people getting online news are increasing.

On the other hand, Iraqi people rarely listen to news on radio even they have no access to the internet.
