Abstract EN

The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of an educational program based on TRIZ theory in developing problem solving skills among ninth grade female students in Jordan.The study followed the quasi experimental design.

To achieve the objective of the study a problem solving skills test has been designed and has been also checked in terms of validity and reliability.The sample which was selected purposely consisted of (51) students who were studying at a public school in Jordan, was divided randomly into two groups :a control group consisting of (25) female students which was taught using traditional teaching, and an experimental group of (26) female students which was taught using the educational program.

The study revealed that students performed better with an educational program based on TRIZ over that of the traditional method on the developing problem solving skills.The study recommended the using of an educational program based on TRIZ theory in the teaching of problem solving, and conducting other similar studies in different educational stages
