المقررات الإلكترونية المفتوحة واسعة الانتشار (MOOCs)‎ في البحث العلمي في العالم العربي : دراسة منهجية للأدب المنشور

Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to provide a systematic review of the published literature on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in the Arab world between 2008 and 2018.

The studies were collected through several sources.

Sixtey two research studies were found and analyzed.

The results showed that more than a third of the published papers were from Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Most of the research published in the Arab world on these electronic courses were in English and published in international journals and conferences.

The most common research method was the qualitative method.

The methods of collecting data included reviewing the previous literature and analyzing the sites and documents.

The focus of published research was on students, design, description, and influence, while there was limited number of research that focused on teachers and policy makers in MOOCs’ environment.

The results showed that there was a limited number of research studies that were cited in the litriture.

Based on the results, set of recommendations were presented.
