In order to allow the Competition Council to perform its duties to the fullest.The Algerian legislature has given it a huge power similar to the oppressive power of a criminal justice.

The most important authority is the one of the punishment which is traditionally from the jurisdiction of the criminal judge, but the legislator did not give it to him randomly, but rather gave the competition Council a package of restrictions most notably the commitment to the rights of the defense.

Pour permettre au conseil de la concurrence d’accomplir correctement ses missions, le législateur Algérien lui a doté d’autorités étendues qui ressemblent à l’autorité disciplinaire dont dispose la justice pénale, c’est surtout l’autorité de la punition, qui est d’habitude la spécialité du juge pénal ; quoique le législateur ne l’a pas octroyé fortuitement mais a conditionné le conseil de la concurrence avec un nombre de limites surtout l’engagement à respecter les droits de défense.
