Forensic psychology is considered to be a discipline that combined legal and criminal psychology in a distinct scientific field.

It has evolved considerably in recent decades, so its theoretical and practical topics have become multiple, also its importance increased significantly in courts, as can be seen in various legal procedures, whether criminal or civil laws, likewise this importance took place in criminal investigations, just as in arresting and identifying perpetrators, then last but not least, its therapeutic and rehabilitation interventions became available, as well as its care programs, in punitive milieu.

Thus, with this progress achieved by such a field, a new freestanding psychological profession emerged, which is represented in the different roles of the forensic psychologist, and soon it assumed a prominent position in developed countries, such as the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

Currently, forensic psychologists play different roles assigned to activities that are constantly increasing.

Despite the necessity of this scientific field, that is considered a must for a comprehensive reform of the legal system, it is still unknown among the relevant academic and professional circles in Algerian society.

Here, this article aims to shed light on some issues in this field, especially those that mainly relate to some judicial features, with the intent that researchers, scholars, and practitioners will focus on their attention, sooner rather than later.
