Relations between citizen journalism and traditional journalism have been widely discussed, and the volume and types of citizen journalism's practices have increased with the ever-rising usage of social media all over the world.

On this basis, this intervention studies how citizen journalism plays an important and sensitive role in the formation of contemporary protest movements, with a particular emphasis on media struggles in raising awareness, building alliances, organizing movements, and creating imaginary communities.

Returning to cite the social protest movements that Arab countries have gone through regarding the so-called "Arab Spring" and El "Hirak/Harak" in Algeria, and other recent social protests let us put the positive points that citizenship journalism contributes to, as well as the negative points of citizenship journalism in society.
