Abstract EN

Students are considered as a privileged class of society; they are rather the class of society that is most active and creative and are a source of social, cultural and political change.

This social category also has the character of production, gift, and creativity in all fields, and because they are found in large numbers in universities with the aim of acquiring science and knowledge and developing the experiences that qualify them for the responsibilities of building the society in the future and since values are considered as basic criteria of the individual and social behaviour of students, their objectives can only be achieved through the promotion of values, which confirms the need for the importance of values and the their development among students.

This study has come out with several results, the most prominent of which are the prevalence of internet use among university students.

The internet, with its various levels of communication, has become one of many other sources for obtaining knowledge and information; it is also a source of social interaction but is used at a lower level in scientific research and academic achievement.

The use of the internet has had an impact on the values system but it does not affect it only in a negative way.

The study has rather proved its capacity (that is to say the Internet) to be bound to the values when the contents of its use are positive and has a negative impact, if the ways of use are negative.

For them, however, it has influenced the reorganization of values according to their preferences and to levels of importance in current times.

That is, according to what is appropriate for the culture of the present time (the reformulation of the system of values specific to young people, in general, and students in a specific way).
