The study is aimed to evaluate the developed science textbooks for the first and fourth primary grades in Jordan according to science teachers’ perspective.
The sample consisted of (265) male and female science teachers in The Education Directorate in Irbid.
The descriptive approach is used in this research.
The questionnaire was applied to collect data after verifying its appropriacy and reliability.
The results of the study revealed the evaluation for the evolved curriculum was low in the teachers’ perspectives.
The study also showed the presence of statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) in the degree of assessment of science teachers attributed to the class, and they were in favor of the fourth primary grade.
There are also statistically significant differences attributed to gender, in favor of females.
In addition to the presence of statistically significant differences attributable to the experience years number, in favor of years which are more than 15.
The study also presented that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) according to the science teachers’ educational level variable.
Moreover, the study recommends reviewing the content of the developed science textbooks periodically and developing them to suit the students’ mental abilities and age, also to be appropriate for Jordanian environment and contemporary global trends.
