This study aims to focus on the most famous modernists and their most important approaches to reading the Qur'anic text From this point, there were many approaches used in the study of religions in general and the sacred texts in particular on the one hand, and some Arab thinkers agreed with the Orientalists in choosing a specific method for studying the Qur'anic text on the other hand, which produced a modernist trend that calls for renewing religion and linking it to reality, compatible with the Orientalists in many of their views and theories, This is what leads to the question of the extent of intellectual compatibility between the two currents, and is this compatibility due to the influence of one another? If so, to what extent did Orientalism influence the modernist reading of the Qur'anic text? One of the leading results rendered by this study is that the modernists were directly or indirectly influenced by the approaches and ideas of the Orientalists in their study of the religious text according to their modernist view.
