Maternity leave is not classified within sick-leaves; despite that it is considered as one of leaves related to health reasons, because the pregnancy and what follows it from labor and breastfeeding is not really a disease as much it is a physiological condition in woman's life, this health condition gives the right of health care to woman in general, and to working woman in particular, where the latter has the right of maternity leave with the compensation associated with it.

However, the health condition of woman can get worse resulting diseases and health complications such as abortion, obstetrical delivery and other, in addition to the possibility of the ence of pregnant woman before the potential date of giving birth, which requires determining the nature of the social protection granted to her in this case.
