The study aimed to identify the level of both field training and professional competence of the trainee mentor student in the Psychological Counseling Department at Al-Aqsa University.

Furthermore, It also examined the relationship between field training and professional competence.

By verifying the existence of statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the sample members on the two scales of field training and professional competence according to demographic variables (gender, type of training, and academic level).

Two standards were applied: field training and professional competence (prepared by the two researchers).

A sample of (163) male students was included.

The existence of a positive correlation between the fields of field training and the total score of the measure of professional competence of the trainee mentor student.

The presence of statistically significant differences on the two scales of field training and professional competence.

The trainee mentor student attributes to the gender variable in favor of the female students.

The presence of statistically significant differences on the two measures of field training and the professional competence of the trainee mentor student attributes to the variable of the type of training in favor of training2.

The existence of significant differences statistically significant on the two measures of field training and professional competence of the trainee mentor student due to the variable of the academic level in favor of students with excellent grade.

The study also recommends confirming through all those in charge of field training and the department of psychology at the university on the active role that field training plays in strengthening the relationship between the trainees students and the work environment, on the one hand.

Then between the parties to the educational process with its human and logistical components, on the other hand.

It will definitely benefited the achievement, raised the professional competence, changed the directions towards the extension work, and strengthened the linking of the theoretical study with the courses it contains and the realistic practical application.

Activating the mini-training program and simulation inside the university before the student joins the field training outside it, particularly with students of low academic level to break the barrier of fear and negativity as well as to adjust their attitudes towards the training position.

In addition to, holding orientation lectures and targeted workshops on which a group of field supervisors provide students with the necessary knowledge and experience.

Focus on the nature of the relationship between the field training program and the training institutions that incubate students.

By strengthening joint cooperation with the administration of those institutions, including the exchange of scientific and training experiences, or holding seminars and lectures attended by the targeted students to get benefit.
