: This study examines the phenomenon of cultural violence in popular proverbs in the Bordj Okhriss region located in the south-east of theprovince of Bouira, through, a field approach in which we met old men and old women from the region in order to listen to the most important popular proverbs that promote and perpetuate the phenomenon of violence and call it in its different forms, trying to explain and criticize them so that they become an effective mechanism in the fight against the phenomenon, on one hand; on the other hand, we have also touched on very few examples that concretize the value and effectiveness of woman in society
