Abstract EN

This paper seeks to discuss some issues related to the quality of research in Islamic economics, by considering that it enhances the role that scientific research plays in addressing societal problems.

It proceeds from the traditional concept of quality and analyzes its various dimensions that can be projected onto and applied to Islamic economics research.The paper also discusses the criteria used to measure research quality and identifies its shortcomings, and the aspects that have been overlooked aiming to move onto addressing the extent to which collective research can achieve quality; evidence is presented showing the weakness of the relation between quality and the collegiality of research, as the choice of one of the patterns in research processing is determined by objective and circumstantial factors.

Finally, the paper concludes with a set of results that were drawn from the presented analysis.
