In light of the growing negative effects of the global reliance on fossil energy, especially on the environment and the human dimensions of development on the one hand, and the threats of depletion on the other hand, the importance of the trend towards renewable energy as a strategic alternative to achieve the dimensions of sustainable development as a permanent energy and environmentally friendly.

Algeria is among the oil countries threatened by the disappearance of traditional oil resources, which is the pillar of financing the Algerian economy and at the same time has enormous potential of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, from this angle is trying to answer the following main problem: To what extent has Algeria succeeded in moving towards renewable energy to achieve sustainable development? In order to answer this main problem and to clarify the aspects of the subject, we will address the following topics in this study: First, the concept and dimensions of sustainable development.

Second, the concept of renewable energy.

Third, The importance of renewable energy in achieving the dimensions of sustainable development.

Fourth, Study the Algerian experience in the field of renewable energy to achieve sustainable development.
