Abstract EN

This study aimed to assess the quality of life in cancer patients and targeted the laryngeal cancer category, as it dealt with the most important theoretical points about this cancer starting from its definition to its treatment method and the most prominent complications it causes that affect the quality of life of patients, then we dealt with orthopedic rehabilitation as an important stage In the care of people with laryngeal cancer, especially those who have undergone surgical treatment (partial or total laryngectomy), given that this rehabilitation has an important impact on improving the quality of life after surgery and the social and possibly professional reintegration of the patient.

We performed a case study of a 69-year-old person with laryngeal cancer who underwent total laryngectomy and used in this study the Quality of Life Questionnaire QLQ-C30 and the Quality of Life Questionnaire for Head and Neck Cancer QLQ-H & N35.

The results resulted in an average acceptance of the disease and a good quality of life, with a severe influence on the social aspect of the patient, and the emergence of disturbances at the level of the senses of smell and taste, as well as the level of speech and social communication.
