Abstract EN

We seek through this article to shed light on the procedure for the selection and recruitment of future teachers for access and training in higher teacher training schools (ENS) in Algeria, and we concluded after the study of this selective operation which is largely focused on the results of candidates for the baccalaureate as well as the results of the selection interview, the latter collected through an observation grid, dialogue with the student, and sometimes the reading of the texts chosen, remains insufficient for the duration of the interview 10 minutes at most, the members, and the tools used during the interview.

Although this selection and recruitment is not far, in part, in terms of action from what is happening in other countries that use the results of the end of secondary studies, the cumulative educational path of the student , letters of recommendation from the student's former teachers, the candidate's passage through a long selection interview carried out by various tests and scales.

as well as the obligation to obtain a qualification certificate (permit) for the education necessary after the completion of university studies, and this is not the case in Algeria, where recruitment takes place after the end of studies in the ENS.

But this selection process must be enriched by recourse to specialists in the field of professional selection and recruitment, the use of tests and measuring instruments: of motivation, tendencies, attitudes, aptitudes and capacities for teaching (cognitive, physical and physiological, psychological, and linguistic, skills, ..) so that the teacher is ready to assume the duties and responsibilities of the teaching profession in the future.
