The right to education is a constitutionally enshrined right for all Algerian children, and the National Education Directive has affirmed this right even for children with special educational needs, and with the increasing number of children with behavioural and educational problems in Algeria, there has been a growing interest in providing the best conditions to help them reach the best of their preparations and abilities, and to invest them to advance the country's development.

The latter is the most important element in the development of the country's economy.

The ministry of national education has established special sections for these children within primary schools known as "air-conditioned education departments", which seek to provide them with intensive and quality-specific programmes that take into account their difficulties.

In this paper, we aim to know the importance of this type of education in dealing with intractable educational delays and their impact on their psychological, social and academic aspects, and its ability to reduce the phenomenon of school drop-outs, as well as to identify the reality of this education on the ground in terms of school conditions, shortcomings and problems, the extent of real sponsorship of this category, as well as the criteria of selection and the role of both the psychiatric-pedagogical medical committee and the school health detection and follow-up units in the success of education.
