English Abstract

The study of the behavioral characteristics of university students is of great importance to most countries.

The researchers also examined the behavioral characteristics that distinguish the mentally gifted from other ordinary people, so there are numerous studies on the characteristics of outstanding students.

The identification of the behavioral characteristics of university students represents the natural entrance of any program aimed at caring for outstanding students.

The development of their abilities, which is a very important process for the consequent decision-making may have a serious revenge such as classifying the student as superior, while others classified as not superior.

The current search has targeted: 1-measuring mental excellence (behavioral characteristics) among students of Mustansiriya University2-To identify the significance of differences in the behavioral characteristics of outstanding students of Mustansiriya University according to two variablesA - Gender (male - female) B - Specialization (scientific, human)The current research of the University of Mustansiriya College of Basic Education determines the primary morning studies during the academic year 2018-2019The research sample included (300) students distributed equally between the variables of type and specialization.

The researchers adopted the scale (Abdel Zaid and Hamzah, 2015), which is based mainly on Renzoli's theory of behavioral characteristics of the mentally gifted.

The measure of truth and stability indicators was the stability coefficient (0.79) in the retest method.

After processing the data using statistical means, the results showed the following: 1-The research sample is characterized by mental superiority according to the list of behavioral characteristics developed by Renzuli2-There is a statistically significant difference in the behavioral characteristics of the mentally challenged according to gender variable and for females3-There is a statistically significant difference in the behavioral characteristics of the mentally challenged according to specialization and scientific interestIn the light of the results achieved, the researchers recommended some recommendations and suggested a number of proposals
