The textual linguistics shows a new vision about linguistics after the periodof questions which ask: Is linguistics limited to the study of the sentence or goes beyond to the text? the advent of textyal linguistics adds a new ingredient to read the text a cotextual linguistic reading, which aims at discussing the question of the text cohesion and coherence.

The poem Elmoumathiloun, by Nezzar Kabbani, which comes within the realm of the political discourse, deals with the linguistic cohesive tools such as repetition and ellipsis.

Therefore, the meaning and its interpretation in the poem Elmoumatheloun does not exist withoutthe availability of the discourse theme, the intertextuality, and the context.
