The research aims to identify: 1- The level of mathematical literacy in teachers mathematics item in both from the college of Education for Pure Sciences - Ibn al-Haytham/ Baghdad University and the College of Basic education /AI-Mustansiriyah University.2- The level of mathematical literacy in their students fourth stage / Mathematics Department in both from the college of Education for Pure Sciences - Ibn Al-Haytham /Baghdad University and the College of Basic Education/ AI-Mustansiriyah University.3-The relation of mathematical literacy in the teachers of mathematics and their students in both from the college of Education for Pure Sciences - Ibn al-Haytham/ Baghdad University and the College of Basic Education/ Al-Mustansiriyah University.

The researcher prepared a mathematical literacy two tests, one of them for special teachers mathematical item, and the other is special for their students fourth stage/ Department of Mathematics we have produced the two tests of the validity and the reliability, The test mathematical literacy becomes special teachers item mathematical final form is composed of (46) items, and The test mathematical literacy special for their students fourth stage/ Department of Mathematics final form is composed of (40) items, The test was applied to the research sample consists of (65) teachers from the college of Education for Pure Sciences - Ibn Al Haytham and the College of Basic Education and (153) students of the fourth stage / Mathematics Department in the Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences - Ibn Al Haytham and the College of Basic Education from Baghdad University And Al-Mustansiriyah University, To achieve the aims of the research, use the following statistical means: (t-test) for one sample, and a Pearson correlation coefficient, Research results showed to: - 1- Teachers mathematics in the college of Education for pure sciences - Ibn al-Haytham and the College of Basic Education of the two University Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriyah possess mathematical literacy and a good degree.

2 - The students of the fourth stage / Department of Mathematics in the college of Education for pure sciences - Ibn al-Haytham and the College of Basic Education from the two university of Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriyah have the mathematical literacy and acceptable degree.

3 – As a result of the relationship of mathematical literacy in the teachers of mathematics and their students to have a relationship between them.

In the light of the results of the research, the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions for the purpose of doing research and subsequent studies
