The current research aims to identify ((Osborne model in the ability to solve problems in the geography of students in the fifth grade literary.

To achieve the research objective, the researcher put the following hypothesis: There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group who study natural geography with the Osborne model and the average scores of the control group who study the same material in the test of the ability to solve tribal and remote problems.

The researcher chose the research society of the General Directorate of Baghdad / Rasafa third education deliberately, and chose the Iraq preparatory high school randomly to implement his research.

The students of the two divisions (A and B) were selected to apply the experiment in a simple random way.

A group of the experimental group, (32) students and the Division (B) of the control group who study the same article in the traditional way of (32) students and included the last three chapters (IV, V, VI) of the natural geography to be taught for the academic year 2016/2017.

For the purpose of measuring the ability to solve problems, the researcher adopted a ready measure (Amiri, 2014) consisting of (18) paragraphs distributed on the steps of problem solving and was presented to the experts to verify its validity and stability to the current research community.

The results were statistically treated using ( t-test) For two independent samples showed the result of the research: There is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group and control studying natural geography with the Osborne model in the test of the ability to solve problems between the tribal and the post-part).

In light of the results, the researcher recommended: 1.

the need to use modern models in teaching, especially the model Osborne in the teaching of natural geography.2.

the need to take care of teachers and natural geography teachers using modern models of teaching ability to solve problems.

In light of the results, the researcher gave some suggestions, including: 1.

Conduct a similar study for the current study on other subjects.2.

Conduct a similar study of the current study on the intermediate and primary stages to familiarize students on how to solve problems.
