Abstract EN

This study seeks to address an important topic in the field of international relations, as this research paper aims to shed light on the role of regional variables - Iran and Syria - in drawing and directing the foreign policy of the State of Iraq after the American occupation, considering that if the state possesses the correct basis for building Its foreign policy is to be an influential regional and international actor, but if it is weak, then it will be influenced by others without a source of influence over them.

The study found that the Iraqi foreign policy was affected by a set of regional interactions and balances, which was reflected in their decisions towards countries and all issues related to their geographical neighborhood.

Iraqi-Iranian relations and Iraqi-Syrian relation are among the most important issues affecting the drawing and making of Iraq's foreign policy due to the geographical proximity and what it can raise in terms of its relationship with these parties
