Abstract EN

The issue of information confidentiality and special administrative documents, particularly the classified, ones, has been given utmost interest for the first time by the Algerian legislature, as reflected in the issuance of order 21-09 of June, 08th 2021 on the protection of information and administrative documents, The study aims at demonstrating the mechanisms adopted by the legislature to secure information and documents issued by public authorities.

The Algerian legislature, through the above-mentioned law, has adopted both the precautionary approach based on the administrative and regulatory treatment of the rules, for the protection and security of information, as well as the punitive approach of criminalizing and punishing offenses against the information and administrative documents confidentiality and the aftermath sanctions of their violation.
