This analytical study aims to identify the cultural implications of modern communication technology for young people in contemporary societies through the model of social media.

To answer the questions and achieve the objectives of the study, the analytical descriptive approach was adopted.

We have reached a number of conclusions, including that social media networks are an effective cultural element in bringing about fundamental cultural changes in the cultural construction of young people in contemporary societies, particularly through their promotion of consumer culture.

However, as they have had negative implications for the cultural specificity and security of contemporary societies, they have played a positive role in opening up cultures to one another.

Therefore, the impact of modern communication technology on young people in contemporary societies can be determined by the nature and characteristics of the user, as well as his degree of awareness of global transformations.
