This study aims to shed light on one of the most important topics in Islamic strategic thought, and this is related to the development of the Islamic military strategy, which appears to have not received much attention from researchers compared to the Western strategy.

This article seeks to present the most prominent concepts and foundations related to war in Islam, and the development of Islamic military strategy, finally the Yarmouk Battle, which is a suitable model for studying the most prominent pillars of war in Islam.

The study concluded that the military strategy in Islamic thought is distinguished from other civilizations by taking into account the humanitarian and moral aspects in the arenas of war and fighting, and it has also known a remarkable development in terms of the material and organizational contexts of war.
