Abstract EN

This scientific study aims at diagnosing and determining the method of the Arabic-speaking France 24 channel in dealing with the “Hirak” popular movement that took place in Algeria from February 22nd, 2019.

This is done by analyzing a sample of the discussion program episodes.

In keeping with the purpose and objective of the study, we used the descriptive method to analyze the content as a tool for data collection.

The sample was classified as an intentional sample of 12 episodes that we took to answer questions about the form and content of the media material.

The study resulted in a set of findings.

The most important of which is that the channel took a neutral stance in its treatment of the Algerian “Hirak” popular movement, and that it focused on a set of issues and topics during its presentation of the events taking place in the country, most notably the topic of future prospects and possible scenarios for the “Hirak” movement's events and developments
