This study starts from a detailed examination of three tendencies that characterize - at a minimum - a large part of the academic product of sociology and social sciences in the Arab context.

It assumes that this pattern of social interpretation and understanding and perception of society, It reflects the logic of social philosophy that claims its ability to answer all questions, si dh dna not related to the epistemic conditions and the methodological rules of the social sciences.

Historically, these sciences that are concerned by the study of man and society according to scientific methods, did not arise Only after sd social awareness has emerged, and d epistemic awareness related to it, Where modern philosophy expressed it through the category of the subject.

The philosophy of self has moved the cognitive system from a theocentric view of the world to an anthropocentric one, which Give to the individual a central position in social production and action in history, it comes from a postulate that reality is a social construct.

However, social thought in the Arab context is still based on the Platonic paradigm, which there is no place for the active subject producing meaning and history, and Not social as a historical subject.

The study used an approach that adopted analytical tools belonging to the sociology of knowledge and political sociology, to reveal at first the philosophical and political limits of the experience of the Renaissance, which failed to bring the epistemic shift Regarding the Social Sciences, and to show secondly that the elites - military and civil - who ruled in the post-independence period were Carrier of a political ideology (populism) based on the glorification of the past, the myth of the people, the negation of society and the rejection of social sciences.
