Abstract EN

The present research deals with hyperbole in sports writing, it is a matter of seeing how a figure of style such as hyperbole is included in a discourse different from the discourse of literature.

Our initial question revolves around how is hyperbole positioned in discourse? What is the relation between the different types of hyperbole and enunciating them? By following a descriptive analysis method, we will see how the Algerian press reported the fact that the Algerian football team is elected champion in the Africa Cup 2019 held in Egypt.

Expressions are analyzed according to their types, such as metaphorical hyperbole, expressions of time, adjectives and adverbs of size.

Thus, we see that the hyperboles are used either to glorify the obtained result or to criticize the choices of the ex-coaches and the country’s political situation, noting particularly that each hyperbolic expression used by the journalist responds to a determined strategy.

La présente recherche traite l'hyperbole dans l'article sportif, il s'agit de voir comment une figure de style comme l'hyperbole est incluse dans un discours différent du discours littéraire.

Nos questions de départ s'articulent autour de: comment l'hyperbole se positionne dans le discours? Quelle est la relation des différentes typologies hyperboliques avec l'énonciation? En suivant une méthode d'analyse descriptive nous allons voir comment la presse algérienne a rapporté le fait que l'équipe algérienne footballistique est élue championne dans la coupe d'Afrique 2019 déroulée en Égypte.

Les expressions sont analysées en fonction de leurs types, tels que l'hyperbole métaphorique, les expressions de temps, adjectifs et les adverbes de taille.

A partir de là, nous constatons que les hyperboles sont utilisées soit pour glorifier le résultat obtenu ou pour critiquer les choix des ex-entraineurs et la situation politique du pays, notant notamment que chaque expression hyperbolique utilisée par le journaliste répond à une stratégie énonciative déterminée.
