Abstract EN

This study deals with the phenomenon of semantic deviation in the Holy Quran with the security ayas (verses) as a model.

It applies the pragmatic stylistic approach pointing out the most frequently used types of deviation in the Qur'anic verses, concentrating on the semantic and rhetoric role style dealing highlighting eloquence and denotation role.

The study reaches at the following conclusions: 1- The semantic deviation is considered one of the most significant stylistic phenomena in modern criticism and existedin our rhetorical heritage under different names such asexpansion or extension.
