The role of the state has grown steadily throughout the centuries, and with it the administrative system, external action, the function of legislation, levies, and subsidies too.
In this context of evolution of the role of the state, the paper examines the influence of state policies on the engagement of Algerian companies in social responsibility (CSR).
The study has been conducted on 94 Algerian companies.
It allowed us to set up a model which identified the fear of the legislation and the will to benefit from a State subsidy as real motivations of engagement of the Algerian companies in the social responsibility of the companies (CSR).

Le rôle de l'Etat n'a cessé de grandir au cours des siècles, et avec lui l'appareil administratif, l'action extérieure, la fonction de législation, les prélèvements, ainsi que les subventions.
Dans ce contexte d'évolution du rôle de l'Etat nous allons examiner dans ce papier l'influence des politiques étatiques sur l'engagement des entreprises algériennes dans la responsabilité sociale (RSE).
L'étude testée sur 94 entreprises algériennes nous a permis de mettre en place un modèle qui a identifié la crainte de la législation et la volonté de bénéficier d'une subvention étatique comme des réelles motivations d'engagement des entreprises algériennes dans la responsabilité sociale des entreprises (RSE).
