Undoubtedly، all fields of research on literary genre theory، though few، face great difficulties whether related to Arabic or international literature.

The present paper raises major questions in a methodological way to find out such difficulties.

It seeks to study the concept of 'term'، its growth، types، and significance from different angels.

It arrives at many conclusions such as: the form in the literary genre is considered the most important element، these types differ according to how related to audience، they differ between themselves on how they are realised by others، only few litterateurs and critics can distinguish between the terms: gender and type whereby most use them synonymously.
