Abstract EN

The similarity in the denotations and connotation in the meaningsof certain words is noticeable among the ancient ArHowever, over time and due to for the frequent using for these words, itsmeanings are developed and people use them to refer for just onemeaning and they do not care for the precise difference betweenthe meaning of these words.

That was either because of negligenceor inattention.

Due to this development of using them thereare many words having the same meaning.

Among these words, some converge in meaning "Miserliness and Stinginess".

These twowords are mentioned in Quran and Hadith and to find out the differencebetween the meaning of these two words and their contextsthat can used for each word of them and to illustrate the degreeof agreement and disagreement of Quran and Hadith in using forthese two words, this research has been conducted.

The researcher finds that the Quranic use for miserliness is coupledwith the possession of money without kindness and goodness, whilethe miserliness in Hadith is not limited to possession of money butused to refer to prevent kindness and goodness like a prayer on theProphet and saluting people.

The Stinginess is found in many placesof the Glorious Quran.

Moreover, stinginess can be used to refer tomiserliness in money.

In Hadith 'stinginess' takes a space larger than'miserliness' not just that but also the miserliness is considered asa branch of stinginess' that in Hadith indicates possessing moneyand other things as kindness and goodness.

Ultimately, these twoconcepts belong to one semantic field and are found in both theGlorious Quran and the Prophet's Hadith.
