Abstract EN

In this paper, the two researchers investigate the effect of theHoly Quran on Majid Hakim Mujed's poetry.

Mujed is an Iraqi poetwho writes prose poetry in the nineties of the last century.

Thisstudy focuses on the Quranic intertextuality in most of his importantworks, namely " Never Falling, but Ascending to the Sun " and "Beneath the Moon, On Roses ".

The poet inaugurates writing thesetexts in the years between 1997 and 1999.

The researchers attemptto monitor the Quranic influence in his wording and expressionsand show how the poet Majed Hakim Mujed interacts and benefitsfrom the Holy Quran through the method of intertextuality by twodomains: Firstly: the injustice ruling power on people, and betrayal.

Secondly: the alienation and aspiration to escape from the painfulreality; the exile is an expected result for the oppressed peoplewho have kept in subservience and hardship, especially by the unjustexercise of authority and the acts of power of intimidation andbrutality.

The researchers pointed the influence of Quran in the modernpoetry, referring to Majid Hakim Mujed's poems which is the scopeof the present research.

The poems have many aspects of convergence, with the Holly Quran in terms of individuality, compositionand content.

As well as, the intertextuality in the poems has a rolein producing new indications and multiple new semantic connotations.

The research reveals that Majid Hakim Mujed's poetry presentsdark and poignant visions of the homeland, describes his painfullife and his unknown future and resorts to his main motive, theQuranic verses, to evoke the intended meanings of stability.
