Abstract EN

Using an analytical and critical approach, this qualitative study attempts to unfold the roles that fall upon the media scientific and Algerian academics elites in producing discourses that aim at generating critical awareness towards mediated contents via open communicational and digital electronic spheres, especially through social media networks and news platforms.

In order to identify and gauge the participation of these elites in upholding its cultural and social tasks when it comes to rising awareness and sensitizing the public opinion, in regard to risks and consequences of spontaneous, naïve or negative reception of electronic media contents made outside the strict professional media frames, besides to highlighting their roles in manufacturing awareness and producing thought and cultural systems that endorse electronic education efforts, especially that Algeria had to make up for years of media education neglect as a way of cultural consolidation of the society and the state, and a protection of individuals and society from the soft war detractions waged by intellectual penetration and cultural misleading beyond institutional authoritarian frames, which behold the society fortification as a pretext to control politics and asphyxiating public sphere and individual freedom, channeling public and media freedom to support and reproduce the existing hegemonic regimes.
