Abstract EN

Using the descriptive and analytical method, this study attempted to identify the reality of governance in Algeria, as one of the most important determinants of the investment climate and attracting foreign direct investment, by tracking the levels of development of governance indicators issued by the World Bank, given the credibility of these indicators.

The study found that the investment climate in Algeria is markedly weak, as reflected in the world governance indicators, which reflect a negative development accompanied by a modest performance in attracting foreign direct investment.

Therefore, the study recommended a number of recommendations, such as exerting more efforts to fight corruption, work on laying down the rules of good governance, and promoting the investment opportunities available in Algeria.
