Abstract EN

This paper deals with one of the famous characters in the fourth century AH, and I mean by Ibrahim bin Mohammed Ben Arfa alias Naftawih Al-nahway Al-Wasti, he was born in (244 AH ) in Wasit, this city was and is still the home of scholars and poets, and he died a year (323 AH).

He is famous for his classifications in the fields of literature, grammar, language and history, in addition to these works, he had some poems that we found widespread in the sources of books that were translated for him, and we detected fifty-seven pieces of poetry totaling a hundred and sixty-six verses, and we arranged the tracks according to the alphabet, and we have proven the purpose of each of them.

Most of the subjects of these passages revolve around spinning, kinship, wisdom and asceticism, and these tracks were spoken for recreation or express his emotions or clarifying an issue.

In spinning, for example, we find that most of the spinning tracks were to express a philosophy of love and how it should be, it is more in preaching than it is in love, We feel as we read these verses as if we hear a preacher's voice, not the voice of a poet who is tired of love.

His poetic language was distinguished by clarity and avoiding the strange use of words.
