Drawing on Perelman &Obrechts-Tyteca’s work, we are questioning as a corollary the means that would enable students enrolled in a bachelor's and master'sdegree in French as a foreignlanguage to succeed in their argumentative writing.Thus, we postulate that the concession, as a rhetorical figure and argumentative movement, is notoriously based on a compromise established between the image of the argumentator and that of the public he aims to convince; the ethos and pathos of the two antagonistic parts.
Our contribution thus identifies the image of the argumentator and the other through this argumentative movement.

Partant des travaux de Perelman & Obrechts-Tyteca, nous nous interrogeons en corollaire sur les moyens qui permettraient à des étudiants inscrits en licence et master de français langue étrangère de réussir leur argumentation à l’écrit.
Ainsi, nous postulons que la concession, en tant que figure rhétorique et mouvement argumentatif, s’étaie notoirement sur un compromis instauré entre l’image de l’argumenteur et celle du public qu’il ambitionne de convaincre; l’ethos et le pathos des deux parties antagonistes.
Notre contribution cerne ainsi, l’image de l’argumenteur et de l’autre à travers ce mouvement argumentatif.
