The phenomenon of the budget deficit in Algeria is a phenomenon with a great degree of complexity, where there are multiple and overlapping reasons of structural and political reasons.

The research clarified that one of the most important determinants of deficit recorded since 2009 is the decline in oil prices, which is the main determinant of the public revenue side of the budget.

Prices were the main and only reason for the decline in public revenues.

On the other hand, the huge volume of public expenditure and the inability of the government to scale it in line with the economic situation since 2014 is another determinant of the deficit.

The main result of the research was that the structural imbalance of the Algerian economy is the main cause of the vulnerability The public revenues and their excessive sensitivity to fluctuations in oil prices.

On the other hand, the continuous increase in public expenditures and non-productivity in the face of fluctuation and the significant decline in public revenues have made them a source of instability in Algeria.
