Contradiction is the combination of two or more compatible ones, then what corresponds to them in the order.

Tactic is the source of beauty by raising attention to the idea, and awakening the feeling to balance between something and against it, and in that artistic pleasure is achieved, the meaning is clarified and affirmed, and it is settled in the souls, as the style increases in beauty and clarity.

Mentioning a thing and corresponding to it gives good speech, and broadens the scope of knowledge in education, and then the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, and against it distinguish things.

Due to the energies of encounter, many poets used it, including Ali Ibn al-Jahm.

Modern studies have attached great importance to oppositional relations, because of their importance in revealing the significance and creating artistic aesthetics.

Therefore, I started this research by studying the poetry of Ibn al-Jahm and revealed the phenomenon of rhetorical contrast in his poetry, and analyzed its models according to the descriptive and analytical method.

The reason for this is due to the contradiction inherent in the poet's society and the psychological struggle between what he aspires to and what is happening in reality.

There is hardly a house without it.

The poet also depended on the formulation of this art in his poetry, as the contradiction often included rhetorical connotations such as affirming and expressing the poet's love or hatred towards the things he lived through.

The poet also aimed through him to demonstrate the greatness of himself, his old pride, and the deterioration of his condition after that, which requires mixing the text with antagonisms.

It is noticeable from the technical point of view that it relied on antagonism, both positive and negative.
