Abstract EN

Journalism played a major role in publicizing the cultural and political awareness, during the period of intellectual revival in the Islamic world at the beginning of the twentieth century.

The holy city of Najaf, a center of religious studies (Al-Hawza) and place of supreme religious authority (Al-Marjieya) wasn't isolated from this social and political change as result of accelerating events especially the constitutional revolution in Iran (1905-1911 AD) and Ottoman revolution (1908 AD).

The (Durrat Al-Najaf) magazine issued in the Farsi language (1328 H / 1910 AD) by order of Al-Shiekh Mohammed Kadhum Al-Khurasani (Alakhund), the supreme shia'a leader in the holy city of Najaf to clarify his views about the reasons of deviation of the Persian constitutional revolution, and to answer the secularist's suspicious questions through addressing the Iranian people directly to refute the false rumors about religious authority views in the media and in the secularism cultural forums.

The magazine was stopped after 8 issues written by its creator Al-Sheikh Mohammed Almahallaty.

The researcher translated it to the Arabic language and divided it to several aspects.
