Syed Qutb lived a fruitful literary life.

This literary and critical life began with poetry in the twenties of the twentieth century.

It continued to write stories and literary criticism in the forties of this century and after.

This life did not last on a single pace, but rather changed with the intellectual and political life of a writer, especially when Sayyid Qutb turned to Islamic literature and realism.

And then we see that before the forties he belonged to the romantic literary school and then to Islamic realism.

And between these two periods, he oscillated between the schools of romance and realism, while at times he came close to realism, and sometimes he moved away from it.

The thinking writer excelled in combining them and adopted the same literary specifications - such as the style of imagination, subjective and literary experience, and attention to details - to complete his literary works and to build his critical ideas.

We find him approaching his romantic imagination to realism, and his realistic experience approaching romance.

The attention to details makes him pay attention to the romantic, imaginative details at times and the details of his real daily life at other times.

Soon, Islamic realism took root in his ideas and literary works, and its influence was clearly noted in his intellectual, literary and artistic stances.

It is necessary to shed light on his literary works and his critical views anew, to monitor these commonalities and to identify the distinctions of his Western and Islamic realism before and after the forties.

This life, full of unique intellectual and literary experiences, is what made us search for this topic, and the method of research is historical, using the descriptive-analytical method.
