Many diseases and epidemics have affected the world resulting the current demographic transition and casualties, and that reflected even on the economic, political and social levels in many countries, among those countries: northern African ones.

Algeria exactly, between 1782 and 1814 has witnessed many pandemic outbreaks despite the tries of DEYS and BEYS (a Turkish title for chieftain, traditionally applied to the leaders or rulers of various populated areas in the Ottoman Empire ) to stop its fast spread by imposing the quarantine system for prevention and relied also on other treatment methods like Herbal medicine which was more common beside to Mineral baths, this later keep exists nowadays even with the evolution of modern medicine.
