Abstract EN

Telecommunications satellites represent an essential pillar in the global media universe.

And the space industry is closely linked to the digital revolution, by offering the largest space for exchange and media production, within the framework of total dematerialization, and from operating networks, whose features are emerging directly by the major economic and media powers.

The relationship of influence between these different actors traces the line of weight assumed by media products, and outlines the features of new media hegemony, by emphasizing the consecration of the principle of soft power.

And Algeria, which occupies a strategic position in the north of Africa, not only in relation to the Arab Maghreb area, but also in the Mediterranean basin, has made the decision to enter this world of space telecommunications with the launch of its first telecommunications satellite “Alcomsat-1”, within the framework of a roadmap drawn up by the Algerian space program.

The full operation of this telecommunications satellite will have to meet national expectations which are important and strategic.
