Abstract EN

This study tends to analyze geopolitical, geohistoric and geosecurity approaches, and this, through the identification of their fields of study, the methodological approach on which they are based, the scientific instruments used, especially the analysis of the variables that determine them.

Also, this study aims to employ these three approaches to analyze the complex security and geopolitical situation in the West Mediterranean and Sahel-African region.

To this end, the main hypothesis to be verified in this study assumes that a combined approach called the geohistorical-security approach remains the most appropriate for understanding the extent of geopolitical dynamics, geohistoric transformations and geosecurity challenges that undermine and characterize the new Sahelo-Euro-Maghreb geopolitical space which is gradually taking shape.
