Abstract EN

This study examines the extent to which China is seeking to ascend the hierarchy of the international system and seek to assert itself internationally by earning recognition for its international position by the international community, especially the United States of America.

It depicts the ways of China's cautious rise and the transformation of its policy into a more realistic and pragmatic pattern in international relations, and demonstrates its relentless efforts to assert its international position as well as its attempts to create a multipolar world away from the hegemony of a sole power through peaceful change.

The conclusions of this paper indicate that China currently has various elements of power upon which it can obtain the aspired recognition for its position at the regional and international level, particularly after the successful management that it has displayed in containing the Coronavirus pandemic that plagued the world since December 2019.
