Since the inception of creation, man has experienced chance throughout his day, with its small and large accidents.

If a civilized person attributes everything that happens to objective causes and tries to deal with it in light of these causes, but a primitive man was not.

He sees coincidence as when certain metaphysical forces wanted to deliver a message through him, according to his beliefs, whether those coincidences were negative or positive.

And he has to decipher that message and treat it so that his life can be set straight again without deviations from what he had already planned for.

Human literature has derived from the fountains of coincidences various ideas, enriched poets and writers in different eras, the mechanisms of their creative activities.

Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish is one of those poets.

And his poem (The Dice Player) is one of his lengthy works that imbibed the human civilizational achievement using his rich expositions and expressive mechanics.
