Abstract EN

This study aims to measure the role of bank credit provided to the private sector as a basic indicator of the modern banking industry in promoting the economic growth of North African countries during the period of time (1995-2018), and to achieve this goal the methodology of cross-sectional time series data (Panel models) has been relied upon.

As the results of the study indicated that bank credit provided to the private sector is one of the most important indicators of the modern banking industry in financing private sector activity.

It also concluded that there is a positive impact of this credit on the economic growth of North African countries, and this essential result was explained to the importance of financing the private sector, by contributing to the establishment of small and medium enterprises, which in turn contributes to increasing the production of goods and services and thus creating The higher the added value, the higher the number of jobs created by the private sector contributes to reducing unemployment and thus supporting the economic growth rate in North African countries
