Abstract EN

This study aims at investigation the pragmatic dimensions of acts in a sample from the Algerian political discourse.

In order to achieve this, we relied on a set of mechanisms and pragmatic conditions determined by John Searle, such as determining the propositional content indicator, the illocutionary force indicator, the illocutionary point, the preparatory condition, direction of fit; and the sincerity condition…in addition to determining the illocutionary force or its role in setting the intention.

Among the results of this research is that the political discourse is highly charged with denotations, meaning more than what it says, and conceals more than what it declares.
