Noam Chomsky's theory of generative grammar represents a crucial development in modern linguistic studies.

As a result of its revolution against the constructivist concepts that prevailed in the nineteenth century; This intellectual revolution that was adopted by "Noam Chomsky" did not rise until the fifties of the last century; It was only strengthened after the appearance of his first study of branching grammar in his book entitled "Syntactic Structures", which was published in )1957( as a first stage; And after it the book "The Model Theory" in )1964( as a second phase; Then the book "The Extended Standard Theory" in )1971 (as a third phase; Each stage was a remedy for the deficiencies of the previous one and a complement to them.

In this research paper, I will try to answer the problem, which is divided into two questions: -The First: What are the most important components that were added by transformational grammar as a complement to generative grammar? -The second: what are its mechanisms of action (the components); How do does perform its functions within the linguistic structure? .
