Abstract EN

According to the constitutional amendment of 2020, the President of the Republic has the power to appoint a Prime Minister in the case where the legislative elections would result in a presidential majority, and to appoint a Head of Government in case where the legislative elections would result in a parliamentary majority.

This important constitutional authority ( Appointingauthority) which the 2020 amendment gave it a significant membering effect on both positions, in spite of the different manner of their existance (the Prime Minister from the presidential majority and Head of the Government from the parliamentary majority), which shows outwardly the power of Head of Government's position over that of the Prime Minister in their constitutional relationship with the President of the Republic.
